If you’re feeling a wave of trip anxiety right about now, I completely get it. It’s enough to make even the most seasoned travelers freeze up.

That’s exactly why I created Self-Guided Seoul.

I grew up mostly overseas, but I moved back to Seoul in my 20s and this has been home ever since.

Way before anyone was doom-scrolling travel reels or asking AI to plan a trip, I was already the resident tour guide for every friend who visited. I’d spend hours mapping out custom routes, translating menus, and writing handwritten dining recommendations.

Fast forward to today: AI can spit out a travel plan in two seconds. But if you’ve ever tried following a generic algorithm in a hyper-speed city like Seoul, you know it falls apart fast. Venues rebrand overnight and Pop-up shops change weekly, and things shift faster than software updates.
